SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT – Reinstatement of Grounds Inspections 9th June 2020

We would like to provide our clients with an update on the inspection aspect of our service which, we advised in our update on 9th April, was suspended due to lockdown restrictions and our staff working at home.

We continue to closely monitor the advice being issued by Scottish Government and as we have now entered Phase 1 on the roadmap for easing lockdown, we have been able to recommence inspection of the external common areas of developments, initially for those developments where we manage only the common external grounds maintenance. Our staff will only be in the external grounds of the properties to inspect them and ensure they are being maintained to the required standard by the Grounds Maintenance Contractor, any concerns we note will be raised with the contractor to address.

We propose to increase inspection levels, on a phased basis, over the coming weeks, to include external inspection only of Flatted Developments, where it is considered safe to do so,. This will include inspection of the usual external common areas (eg.maintained grounds, car parks, etc) and the external elevations, roof etc, visible from ground level, where suitable access is available.

By only carrying out external inspections at the moment, our staff will not be entering any stairwells or properties and therefore not coming into contact with any touch points or surfaces that the residents use, this will ensure our staff and clients are not put at any risk of transferring the Coronavirus.  We would therefore ask that if you see our staff onsite carrying out their inspections, that you do not approach them, to ensure social distancing measures can be maintained.  Instead we would ask that you continue to contact your assigned property manager by telephone or email with any matters relating to your property and they will be happy to assist you.

Our staff have been provided with appropriate PPE and will comply with social distancing and other government guidance when undertaking external inspections.

We will continue to review our provision of services to clients, taking account of the developing situation in the efforts to control the virus outbreak, and we will continue to provide future updates by e-mail on our website ross-liddell.com and via your Webportal.
